It looks like you seem to generate a lot of your opinion from years past. This season it has been the D that's done the job game in game out. It's telling when a guy (SJD) stands up to the podium and apologizes for not getting any turn overs, it's all together even more eye opening when he also says he's sorry the D couldn't score any points.
IMO when a defensive guy is emphasizing the need to score points that is a worry spot on the O.....All season long the RAMS offense has literally disappeared this past game it was the 1st half, in other games it's been the same, or in others it's for a quarter, and at times in the worst possible moments.This past game we get a great unexpected return from Webster, got it to the 43 and what did the O do with it......time left on the clock, great position, 2 time outs plus the 2 minute.....what did the O do with it.......wasted it, that's what they did wasted it.....The D got the stop, Webster got it to the 43, the O did what with it......yes the line had a hold, yes they had to bring the ball back....they still had time and position and they blew it.......
I don't look back at the games he did in 2018, 17, or 19......I'll do something like that when he retires....right now it's this season I'm looking at, and he has not been reliable from the get go.....he's very streaky....the good Goff/the bad Goff....actually that's kinda been his career MO.....yes you can look for, find excuses why, but it ends up the same.
I sometimes wonder what the D thinks when they get turnovers and give good field position and the O comes out and lays an egg.....maybe that's where the idea is coming out and stated that the D feels the need to score in all the games? What do they think when they get 3 and outs only for the O to do the same? What do they think when the get a turn over only for the O to give it right back? What do they think when they stop a team just to have to run out and stop them again just seconds after doing it once?
I think that's why SJD stands up and apologizes for not scoring points, and not getting enough turnovers.....IMO he's kinda saying that they need to rely on themselves to determine who wins the game....
It's kinda funny really, now when the D gets a INT we're yelling at the tube to run it back, because we don't know if the O will do anything with it.....same kinda thoughts that are coming out of SJD's mouth.
