I say they played below par for sure, but again that's 1 game.....Even with the below par D we had the ball with 4 minutes or so left and the leader of our offense screwed the pooch......Unless you are saying that we lost because of the poor defense. They also kept them out of the end zone multiple times, that's not much but keeping them to those FG's enabled our offense to make a play in the end and they plain out blew it...
Again it says a lot to me anyway when a defensive player steps to the podium and says they need to score more points....
They sure didn't play up to their standard they had been playing at for sure, but the offense has played to the level they came out with several times this year. In the end of that game the D came up with a big stop, the punt returner delivered his best shot all season. We were set up at the 43 with 4 minutes left 2 time outs + the 2 min. clock and we went no place.
I don't mind him taking a shot down field, but 2 in a row, when he had options underneath to continue the drive was just awful and the game killer....That is what ultimately killed the game.....He must help out the team much more then he's doing.....it's gotten to the point where the D is feeling the pressure to do it all.
