And that's the frustration with Goff that drives you crazy. Despite the issues like this 4th down play where he - unfortunately - made a bad decision. He's led the Rams to 40+ career wins, division title, NFC Championship...
As someone said prior to the Jets game. The last time the Rams played the Jets Case Keenum was the QB and all was woe in Jeff Fisher world.
It's very easy to want an upgrade but is it a 'be careful what you wish for' thing?
That said, every few games Goff will drive you nuts.
There is absolutely nothing unusual, or rare, about a 40 win qb in his 5th year having a bad game...which he didn't against the Jets.
There is also nothing unusual or rare about people after a bad loss looking at one play to try and put the whole thing on the qb.
And I am one of those who not only does not want an "upgrade," I am also one of the people who DO weigh the good games, which outnumber the bad. They don't win against Arizona or Tampa, for example, without Goff averaging 49 passes per game.
So I don't agree with the focus on one play by Goff in a game when they would not have even been close enough to win unless he produced in the 2nd half in spite of OL and defense issues all game.
Here's a different analysis of what cost them that game:
