but...since you did, the TEs we picked up as UDFAs are likely better than what we have.
Yeah...I liked the draft. But I also realize the Rams have decided to make the TE a small part of their offense. Do I like that? No. I think it's a mistake. But..time to move on.
I'll beach about it during the season while we fail to dominate the middle of the field and suffer in the red zone. Let's hope I'm wrong.
My favorite pick of the draft is hands down Henderson. Why? Because it gets McVay to change up what I feel has become a bit predictable offense as the season wore on and as what was brutally shown in the Super Bowl. Same formations...same plays. There are not 1,000 plays out of that tight formation he runs endlessly. Henderson gives us a new variable and I'm excited to see what he does. I think Gurley will be fine...but he was being overused. This pick helps alleviate some of that early season wear and tear and keeps him fresh longer. Bottom line...while I think some of the reason relates to Gurley, I think more of the reason is that Henderson brings options to the table.
And as further discussion on the draft...as for OL, I am a HUGE proponent of NOT using top picks on OL. The Rams smartly, IMO, didn't and found what appears to be two solid prospects that can be moved across the line. This gives me comfort that Snead may never use a top pick on an OL again! Since 1990, aside from Orlando Pace, we do not need to add to the HOF line draftees of Greg Robinson, Jason Smith, Alex Barron, Wayne Gandy and Bern Brostek.
