that;s not the whole story though

I am looking back on the season.....

1- he was a beast all season...he did lead the league in TD's...

2-the team was on a roll and the O-Line is leading the issue.....

3-we get into a couple of games where we (as the media says..were figured out)....

4-TGIII gets an injury/flare up and we get CJ to replace.....

5-CJ plays lights out ( but what is lost is that the O-Line does the same)....

6-we play the boys with their nasty run D and destroy them (O-Line had a big part of that IMO)

7-the next 2 games...saints and pats our O-Line doesn't match up....This is when the big deal with TGIII starts.....what happened to TGIII but at the same time nobody asks or questions what happened to CJ.....the point that both need to succeed was the O-Line...

My point is that the O-Line makes the system work...it's not so much about TGIII and his knee....He can play and play well...but just as he was thought as a bust by some in his second year it's about his chance to make plays and without holes to find anyone will fail.

Todd will be fine....Brown will as well, Henderson will be a work in progress simply because he is a rookie....But it ultimately is about a Line.....nobody can do anything without a line......

Come out and talk about knees, shoulders....etc.....I just saying that the reason IMO Todd fell off was because the O-Line did not do their job.....But I see a bit of worry coming out just from the natural process of RAM fans.....

For some reason RAM fans always look at dooms day on the horizon.....maybe the years we sucked comes into that process...Gurley is washed up.....so and so is not doing this or that....this guy is a jag....we missed out on this guy or that guy....

Hey let's get real....we went from 4-12 to playoffs...we went from playoffs to SB....and IMO we just got better in this draft....we are in the lead....everyone else is playing catch up....TGIII is going to just fine....and we will improve across the board because we are set up to do just that....

We'll be at the 1st game.....got our tickets....ready to rock and roll...Worry away....I'm not...my time of worrying was when we would ever become relevant.....

1. He had a knee issue in game 1. That's according to both him and McVay. TG said it was "bad." McVay talked about the September incident in December, when they sat him. In December, McVay said the September thing was a "similar" issue. TG did end up playing game 2 but then he had very weak numbers against Arizona, the league's 32nd ranked run defense.

After then he was fine for several games.

2. So when they sat him in December, that was the 2nd time in the season. After some rest (and maybe injections of different kinds) he was ready to go in the post-season. But then he was ready to go after what he himself said was a (quote unquote) "bad" knee situation in September, too. Being ready to go for several weeks, though, did not keep it from coming back.

All the above tells us that whatever it is, he gets pain in his surgical knee, and it can calm down but can also comes back

And so being able to run in the playoffs (at least against Dallas) no more tells us this thing is over than being able to run in October told us the September incident was behind him. It WASN'T behind him. It came back in December.

Now you do not get pain and inflammation--TWICE--in a surgically repaired knee without there being some kind of a physical cause. We know it's not a traumatic injury because he got an MRI and that told them it's not some kind traumatic structural issue (like a tear). It is most likely some kind of underlying condition (and league rules do not require them to talk about that. Only injuries.) And so what is that condition? You don't know any more than I do, but it's something. Did whatever that is go away? No the Rams have not said that. They did not say that whatever could cause the same knee issue twice in one season went away.

Some people say, we'll know in week 1. Well, no. Maybe, but basically no. Given the way this thing manifests itself, it could flare up again in November for all we know. Or maybe not all year. Or maybe twice in the same year--just like in 2018.

Here's what we know the Rams will do. They will manage his touches. (You don't do that unless you have a reason.) They don't say what the condition is, other than to call it wear and tear, and that doesn't quite ring true because he got it in GAME ONE and you don't suffer from over-use IN GAME ONE.

So whatever it is---it can flare up and then calm down, when it flares up it's bad, they will manage his touches but we don't know if that will work (I mean, remember, AGAIN, it happened in game one...so it can happen any time).

Just simply saying there is no issue doesn't address all that.

And that IS me being real. For example NO he was NOT a beast all season--he directly said his knee was "bad" after game one and whatever condition caused that hampered him in game 2 (when against Arizona's gawdawful run defense he got 42 yards on 19 carries, though he was also good in the redzone). And then it happened again in December.

Until we know what condition of whatever kind caused the knee to flare up twice in one season, we will not really know what is going on with him.
