First there is very, very little chance that Fisher is getting fired with just a few games left. It almost never happens and these two guys like each other. I don't see Kroenke humiliating someone he very much likes to satisfy some loudmouth media types and unhappy fans that he doesn't really care about in the first place.
Also, I'm not sure what you missed but the fans and the media have been all over the "Fisher needs to go" bandwagon for a couple of seasons now. So it isn't like there is new pressure on Kroenke. Not that it would matter anyway. Whatever his plan is, it's really unlikely that he is going to deviate from it. So if his plan was to replace Fisher this year, or next year or the season before the new stadium debuts that's probably what he's going to do.
We can speculate all we want, but his plan is probably only been shared with 3 people and they aren't saying anything.
You are right, Les.
Kroenke is in this for the long haul. That is the way he works. It is the way he worked buying the Rams, it's the way he worked moving the Rams, and he is who he is. He is in this for the Long Haul, and he isn't going to change his plan because a bunch of fans are crying about Fisher.
If the Rams get a wild card berth next year or in 2018, all this pissing and moaning will evaporate faster than the morning dew in July.
He is a long haul guy.
He has him signed up to the opening of the new stadium. A point in time he wants all of his options open. If Fisher has delivered the Rams to the playoffs, he may carry the team into the New Era. If he doesn't, then Kroenke will hire a Shiny New Coach to open up Kroenkeland.
