Is his contract similar to Fisher's?
A one plus one year option thing?
And I also wonder if Fisher retains his "final say" authority on personnel matters. If he even survives this '16 season, that is. Probably, but who knows?
My best guess after absorbing the details that have come out via multiple reporters? Fisher is still a goner and Kroenke will eat the '17 contract extension cost. We can probably still look forward to a new HC in '17.
Snead? Hope they hang onto him. Let him do his thing with final authority on personnel matters. Simple. Let the talent evaluator evaluate. Let the Head Coach coach.
You know, like other teams in the NFL do? Lol.
I don't believe this is ALL on Fisher. The Rams have a few really good players but almost every team in the NFL does also. Most of the teams with better records than the Rams simply have more good players. So the question for me is who is truly responsible for player acquisition be it via the draft, free agency, undrafted free agents, trades, etc. I doubt we really know the answer other than what is "reported" -i.e. Fisher has ultimate responsibility over personnel. In my opinion I believe Snead has a lot to do with the acquisition of players-yet he gets little criticism compare to the HC. Like most everyone else I see the games on TV and it seems clear to me that for the most part players for the better teams are simply just that-better. Sure some of it is coaching but to me for the most part it is simply a matter of getting better players. Who was responsible for putting together the players that make up the O line? Who was responsible for using a high draft pick to draft Austin? Who was responsible for drafting an injured tailback from Georgia-who IMO will never match his rooking season?Who was responsible for giving up so many draft choices to get a QB when there were plenty they could have chosen by remaining where they were? Who was responsible for choosing Robinson with the 2d overall pick? Who was responsible for...(blah blah blah). These were all personnel decisions-not coaching. If in fact you believe Fisher was responsible for all these I would like to know your evidence other than the reported "he is in charge of all personnel decisions".
