First there is very, very little chance that Fisher is getting fired with just a few games left. It almost never happens and these two guys like each other. I don't see Kroenke humiliating someone he very much likes to satisfy some loudmouth media types and unhappy fans that he doesn't really care about in the first place.
Also, I'm not sure what you missed but the fans and the media have been all over the "Fisher needs to go" bandwagon for a couple of seasons now. So it isn't like there is new pressure on Kroenke. Not that it would matter anyway. Whatever his plan is, it's really unlikely that he is going to deviate from it. So if his plan was to replace Fisher this year, or next year or the season before the new stadium debuts that's probably what he's going to do.
We can speculate all we want, but his plan is probably only been shared with 3 people and they aren't saying anything.
The way I see it, it was logical to hold onto Fisher until they made the move to LA. Kroenke could care less if the Rams won in STL, he was all in on LA and the STL fans meant nothing to him. It also was logical to give Fisher some security going into this year. Kroenke bought into the OL being better and Gurley doing well. A lot of people did. And everyone knew the defense was good enough. It was probably expected that the Rams would finish better than last year, at least 8-8, and that the Rams would be competitive and have some excitement to them.
Well, Kroenke lost his bet on Fisher. The offense is a disaster and Fisher is ultimately responsible for it. These are his hand picked coaches and players that he has had years to put in place. I believe Kroneke realizes it would be a mistake to continue with Fisher next year and he will eat the money for 2017 and let Fisher go. My idea that he would fire Fisher sooner is based on the level of disturbance the fans can make at the stadium. Obviously it's not going to happen. But I was imagining the fans demanding Fisher gets fired by rioting and burning stuff outside the stadium making it unsafe. So yeah, in that respect it's a dream. I meant it figuratively not literally.
