Let me piggyback onto my own post and say the good thing about Morris’ philosophy is it prevents games from becoming track meets. The thing that bugged me about Coryell’s Chargers is they could score at will. And so could the other team.
If McVay can figure out how to get out of no man’s land (bad field position) and run up points like the Golden State Warriors, he’s got the right defensive coordinator to lock in a big win.
But it’s McVay’s job to figure how to use that strength as a strength.
Some of his play calls are maddening. His team is in a hole and he’s still putting it all on red.
He needs to master small moves to retain possession of the ball.
Credit where credit is due...
Morris runs the Charmin Shell better than any other coach in NFL History!
He was able to coach a defense with 3 HOF'ers on it to a middle of the pack ranking!!! Very impressive!
He coaches a scheme that doesn't rely on a potent offense to be successful!
Anyone can run a glorified Prevent Defense but nobody was creative enough to use it 95% of the time except for Morris! He's a "Trend Setter"!
It's so impressive that the 31 other teams are dying to hire him as their HC to bring the Charmin Shell to their city for their fans to enjoy too!
We are so lucky to have a genius strategist like Morris on our team! Just imagine how un-creative our defensive scheme would be without him!
Sorry other NFL teams, you can't have Morris. We are not done enjoying him yet!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
