In 2021-2022 Rams defense holds the 49ers one point
below what they expect to score offensively.

Rams defense does their job and Kittle knows it.

The losses vs the 49ers are mostly on offense
since McVay the offense has scored 21.4 points a game

Since 49ers got good (2019-present) Rams
have scored 16.8 points a game

Sure, there have been some breakdowns on
some plays, but the reason for the losses is the offense

Only times McVay has beaten 49ers is without Morris is
when Beathard, Mullins and Hoyer were the QBs,

Only one to beat Jimmy G is Morris.

So, Kittle is being honest. If Rams could mount
even a decent offense Rams would have
beaten 49ers and Jimmy G more times.

Defense has done it's most of the time
and never forget when it counted, Rams
beat them-in the playoffs.


There is a tiny minority that does not like facts
and am not talking to you, you are reasonable and fair.

But the facts are Kittle watches football and knows it.
MDS people don't watch and don't know it - they
just spout sound and fury and reject facts.

What we fans complain about is the Niners exploiting the soft middle of the Rams’ defense.

Kittle’s saying the soft middle is the Rams’ strength.

So, who’s right? Is the soft middle a strength or a weakness?

My position is that the soft middle hampers the Rams’ offensive productivity. Hence the low output of points.

When does the offense get a short field to work with? I mean you might be able to look it up over the past 8 game regular season losing streak and find counter evidence, but I’ve watched all these games and it always, always, always seems like we’re starting between our own 25 to 35 yard line.

So, what do the Niners do? They load up for the runs and pressure the quarterback so we’re looking at a quick 3rd and long followed by a punt.

It’s symbiotic, JY. Offense affects defense and vice versa.

I’ve said it since Morris’ first season. His defensive philosophy and McVay’s offensive philosophy mix like oil and water. That’s not a complaint against Morris, it’s a fact. McVay’s offensive is not a dink and dunk, efficient run game, chain moving juggernaut. So, with limited game clock and deep field positions, he forced to hit low percentage chunk plays.

It is what it is.

That’s why I say Kittle secretly likes it. The Niners play with this leverage that exploits the mismatched coaching styles.
