Why focus on the defense.. when really a deviation in against the Niners it the Offense not scoring?
If the offense scores 30 a game vs the Niners and the Defense gives up more.. then peace, point taken.
But how well a defense plays can be dependent on how well the offense plays. And unfortunately the Rams offense don't do well against the niners Defense.
I would not give a pass for the Offense ineffectiveness in this discussion.
I look at this matchup differently.. the defense keeps the Rams in the game against the Niners while the offense tries to figure out how to score TDs against them, instead of empty possessions and three and outs.
There can be fair criticism for the defense vs 49ers and overall. There have been breakdowns in games that have hurt
especially a missed tackle and then a missed gap (Wagner) all those things are fair game.
You can go after the players the coordinator the secondary coach, one of them, or all of them TO A DEGREE.
But overall, when your defense holds a team to what they average then you ALSO have to give some credit.
You cannot be one-sided. It has to be fair, you cannot rip the coordinator and just absolve the players because
they are "HOF players" as if top players cannot and do not make mistakes. That is an agenda-driven statement
Now, also to be fair---it must be acknowledged that it is the OFFENSE that is the biggest failure in the
49ers games, especially recently. Last year Rams scored 23 points versus 49ers and gave 7 away
that is an average of 8 points a game
In 2021 in regular season Rams scored 34 and gave 7 away, that is 14 points a game net.
So, criticize the defense fine.
But the offense deserves far more criticism.
And to some it is the exact opposite.
Shred the defensive coordinator
and in this thread-give the offense a total pass.
Or better yet, some could just take Kittle's word for things
rather than stick their foot in their mouth for about the millionth time.
But it's comical to see people troll a hundred times a day, though, none
of them with a single original thought.
