Why focus on the defense.. when really a deviation in against the Niners it the Offense not scoring?
If the offense scores 30 a game vs the Niners and the Defense gives up more.. then peace, point taken.
But how well a defense plays can be dependent on how well the offense plays. And unfortunately the Rams offense don't do well against the niners Defense.
I would not give a pass for the Offense ineffectiveness in this discussion.
I look at this matchup differently.. the defense keeps the Rams in the game against the Niners while the offense tries to figure out how to score TDs against them, instead of empty possessions and three and outs.
First, this reply is not specifically directed at you, h2o.
I don’t recall a single poster ‘giving the O a pass’. That would be pure hyperbole to bolster an agenda.
Truth is we all know that the Rams O sucked in ‘22 for reasons that were variously unavoidable (injuries) and some self inflicted (occasional inexplicable coaching decisions by McVay and others).
Why can’t we just let the O and the D stand based upon their respective results?
Sure, but the way responses to this are written, it is all defense focused.
Should be balanced from my perspective. You can't talk about the defense without talking about the offense. Especially last year.
These two are not isolated and the data shows it.. especially in previous threads talking about Scoring offense, Scoring Defense and W/Ls
