Sure, but the way responses to this are written, it is all defense focused.
Should be balanced from my perspective. You can't talk about the defense without talking about the offense. Especially last year.
These two are not isolated and the data shows it.. especially in previous threads talking about Scoring offense, Scoring Defense and W/Ls
.
If the tiny few would just be fair and reasonable things would be different.
I cannot speak for you but I argue about the defense not from an extreme view (that Rams defense is great
and that Morris is agreat coach)
I argue that the Rams defense is good at time but mainly it is not as bad as the critics say.
They take the extreme view that Morris should have been fired mid-season 2021 and that
he does not deserve credit for half of the Super Bowl trophy and that if Morris played the
defense they way they wanted it would be better. Like somehow, magically, "mixing it up"
would make the Rams defense great.
They make such claims with no evidence. And as you pointed out--when they do go man
they get beat.
It was pointed out to deaf ears that Rams gave up a a huge yards per completion when playing
man and were among the best at lowest yards per completion in zone.
They play what they play because it gives them the best chance of not allowing points. But
for doing that Morris gets called chicken.
They, as you point out, FOCUS MORE on the offense
and are never balanced. Check how many threads they have started or hijacked about McVay
I bet the ratio is about 100-1.
So, yeah, they do give the offense a pass in terms of actions.
