No, I'm not confident with the roster that Rams have now and then the question marks on offense especially with QB health.
I won't defend Morris and say that he's the coach I want nor the best defensive coach out there.
I am not a fan of the defensive scheme, but I understand it. Other teams I follow in both NFL and College have the same philosophy.. when you have a high scoring offense, you just need to limit big plays and hold the other team to FGs.
This philosophy is effective... it just may not be visually appealing to others.
On the flip side, you have a philosophy that says.. if you have an offensive juggernaut, then can be more aggressive on defense and if you give up a long scoring play, that's fine... Offense will get it back. You can get to the same outcome, but the path is different.
I feel that this is where some people find more visually appealing. At the same time, I hear fans who follow teams like this hate this defense because you can end up in shoot outs more often than not
I'm more into more of the gambling style, so the Rams style doesn't fit me visually. But I can't argue with success. This style can work and helped win a championship. This style was okay in the first half of last year being what would have been the #2 scoring defense in the league.
You can not like it visually, that's fine, but can't say that it is ineffective.
One thing I'll say about Morris is that I commend him for the work he has done. I did not like the hire as I just don't like coaches being asked to adopt a certain system that isn't their own. But, he went with it and the defense played one hell of a playoff run to get the trophy. So, much respect... very difficult to do that.
