QuoteAlbaNY_Ram This is what I think I've learned from a bunch of stuff I've read and listened to, so take it with a grain of salt. McVay is a student of the offensive side of the ball. Some would call him an offensive genius, noting that the Rams were last in scoring in the NFL in 2016 and then lead the league in scoring in 2017, McVay's first year as HC. Last they were 27th. Quotekw13 Are we just having an estate sale and biting the bullet even with Stafford amd Kupp on the team? All based off what I’ve read and interviews I’ve listened to. My opinions only so I could be way off: Prior to and immediately after winning the SuperBowl the Rams felt confident that the model in which they invested in key core positions , drafted players who could contribute immediateby LSURAM - RamsFootballFans.com
Apologies if this was posted earlier, but listening to this podcast may leave all fans with a bit more understanding of what transpired last season and what the plan is moving forward for the organization. The last 20 mins or so provide a detailed account of what McVay went through last season as well. Geaux Ramsby LSURAM - RamsFootballFans.com
Apologies for the whiners site. I do think that if McVay wants to return to key offensive concepts that he learned he might try to return to people he knows who can teach that system. LaFleur , Taylor, McDaniels and Kyle Shanahan have all assembled excellent coaching staffs that have been able to install the west coast offense and the zone blocking run blocking schemes to their respective tby LSURAM - RamsFootballFans.com
I’ve found myself looking at this list of coaches from Mike Shanahan’s coaching staff for a few days . It’s pretty amazing how many of these coaches have had tremendous success and how many of these coaches are still working with another . With McVay filling so many coaching positions I thought it might help to look at who he has coached with on those teams in Washington. McVay, Kyle Shanahanby LSURAM - RamsFootballFans.com
Like you, I don’t have any background or expertise regarding mental health. My best guess: For those of us who got married and/ or had children one day we all stumble across the revelation that life is much bigger than just us. McVay’s wife being from Ukraine and their fear and uncertainty for her family so shortly after the SB might have been the first time McVay realized there is more toby LSURAM - RamsFootballFans.com
It’s funny, as the injuries piled up I convinced myself that these games were similar to preseason games in the hopes of not getting upset. When Van caught that pass it was like releasing demons! So happy for the players, coaches and us as fansby LSURAM - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteramman It would be nice if Whitworth came back for one more year. I wonder if McVay is talking to him about it? I totally get what you are saying, and I’d be lying if the thought didn’t cross my mind when Noteboom went down. That being said, are the Rams a SuperBowl contending team that unfortunately lost its LT? I don’t think many believe that to be the case right now. Bettis, andby LSURAM - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteGreat Bordeni For lack of effort on the Pick Six that was a 14-point swing for the Chiefs. They are saying it could determine the division. He made a couple of plays that drive and the play right before the int I believe Everett fought for extra yards with multiple defenders on his back. He motioned to the sideline to come out, but I’m guessing the sideline told him to stay in. Blame couldby LSURAM - RamsFootballFans.com
I’d love your breakdown of what the Falcons were playing on the last drive a against the Saints that resulted in them giving up the game winning FG. I agree that pressure is the great equalizer but the Falcons seemed to be playing man and not getting pressure resulting in chunk plays. Love your work Youngbloodby LSURAM - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 In no particular order… Keeping 3rd QB Perkins. A waste of a valuable roster slot. Only thing that halfway makes sense is if they plan on dangling Perkins as trade bait for a desperate QB needy team that just had an injury? Keeping Jake Funk. Why? He’s not an effective RB and surely his ST play could be done by another more promising player. Keeping Bobby Evans. Gawd! Does heby LSURAM - RamsFootballFans.com
In the last five seasons the Rams have come up with unique concepts most seasons that took some time for their opponents to adjust to. Wide zone runs, jet sweeps, WRs running similar routes at different depth intervals just to name a few. I’m curious what everyone would would like to see added to the offensive scheme, or any predictions you may have. I’ve thought about this given the Rams strugglby LSURAM - RamsFootballFans.com
All great questions and I do give kudos to the front office and the coaches for routinely finding late round prospects as well as rookie free agents whom they can develop. Tough but great question. Some of these players were on poor teams, or showed production sporadically. I’m thrilled DMarxo Farr is still with the team’s media department.by LSURAM - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree and would like to see Rochell develop into that true #2 CB, but given his injury last year and coming from a small school, that might prove to be too much for him to achieve this year. Long’s strengths coming from Michigan was man to man coverage. I view David Long much like Darius Williams that the Rams seemed to slowly develop. The thing that bothered me the most was the tackling. The49ers rarely threw long passes yet we played off coverage. 4-8 yard completions turned into 10-15 yard gains due to poor tackling. The drive that was run after run illustrated how bad of a game the defense had tackling their runners. If you look at McVay-Stafford interaction when Stafford is walking back to the sidelines after the long int, McVay appears to me to be saying “ what about the shallow, or you had the shallow”.
