The Ford family still owns the Lions, different face, same family. Maybe this new lady will improve things but I'm doubtful. Dan Campbell doesn't have a stellar record. I've only watched him in one video since the hiring and while he talked tough he struck me as a caricature. Personally I think he's going to suck but I'm not an expert on what makes a great head coach so maybe I'm wrong. Hby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Dead, The Detroit franchise is the Ford's toy and they haven't taken football seriously. All the guys who come here realize this. Look at the horrendous history of GMs and HCs. I moved to Detroit when Wayne Fontes was the HC and he would usually go 8 - 8. That wasn't good enough to he got canned. You know the rest of the story. People cried for the days of Fontes. They've had a couple goby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
One thing that has bothered myself and other posters on this board is the mass exodus of assistant coaches. I believe losing that many coaches, especially Staley, makes our team weaker. My question is, why didn't Kronke the owner, throw more money at these guys to keep them? He certainly has the cash, and I don't think he's limited by salary caps. So, why not pay more to keep your betterby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes I agree it was an upgrade. I think McVay is very focused on winning and that he is immature as a HC and that he is ego driven. I think the SB wounded and loss affected his psyche. All of that is not unusual for a young, accomplished, man. In my line of work I have worked with a few young hotshot managers who thought their poop didn't stink. They had no problem throwing someone under theby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with you about Little. He should have been put in jail. Justice is not blind and all men are not created equal.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Stafford got hurt pretty badly a couple years ago, it was a back injury. He missed a good chunk of the season. A few friends said he should retire before he gets hurt worse. My memory is thin and I didn't follow his career but I believe there were a couple games that he started and got hurt and had to come out. I wouldn't put much stock in assessing his current durability against his firsby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I've lived in the Detroit area for many many years now. Lots of my friends are Lions' fans. There were three general camps or viewpoints on Stafford here: 1) Stafford is great, he's been held back by bad teams and real bad to mediocre coaches. 2) Stafford is good, but he's been beaten up and injured too much, it's time to trade him to get what we can for a rebuild. 3) Stafford is oveby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
This year's Goff didn't play like 2018 Goff. McVay has made some bad calls. The bad contracts did limit our team's ability to procure better talent. I remember watching the replay of one of the college national championship playoffs. I watched each critical play a few times just to see what made the difference. What I saw was one team was not making little mistakes while the other team wasby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
A couple of years ago the Lions drafted a center with their 1st round pick and them moved him to guard. We all laughed at our Lions fans friends. "Why not draft the best guard?" The following year they moved him to center. Would it be possible to draft an outstanding guard and move him to center? Or, are the positions so different that the learning curve would nullify any immediaby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Hey 43, If Goff's gotta go then I choose Stafford. I think he has the skills to win a SB.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Wow Rampage, Those were excellent words. My thoughts exactly. You just put them together better than I could. I do like Stafford a lot. I think he'd do great as a Ram. I'd feel very good about it. But I'd rather see our young QB turn things around than lose him for Stafford.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Zn, you've thrown around a few personal comments, more as of late. I was surprised to hear you whine when I used the same words you used against a football website. I mostly agree with you about Goff. I believe he has the skills to be a great QB for us. But Dz is correct here. I'm not trying to pile on but it seems to me that you have doubles standards, one for you, and one for others. I'by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Stafford wants out. It's big news up here in Detroit. The new team mgt. knows he has trade value. They are going to do another rebuild. Team management has been so bad the last few years that lots of talent has either been traded and blossomed elsewhere, went the FA route, or just quit football altogether. The team now is mostly crap. If they can get a nice chunk of draft picks they'd be weby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I've lived in Detroit for a long time now and Stafford has elevated Detroit. Remember, we're talking about the Lions. We've had some poor QBs up here during the last 20 years. Stafford has helped them from being at the very bottom all the time. He's been cursed by lousy head coaches. These guys were worse than Fisher, perhaps with the exception of Cauldwell. Here is my favorite Stafford pby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com

I didn't change the subject at all. Another poster pointed out what is obvious to most of us is that Goff has had good games and they too should be accounted for. You've also claimed that the turnover problem with Goff has been fixed. I'm not so sure it has been fixed but he certainly has improved himself near the end of the season. Yes, McVay is what his record says he is. Just like Fisby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Zn, You can disagree all you want, you can disagree until the cows come home. Goff is what his record says he is. No imaginary scenario creation is going to change that. He is the sum of both his good and bad efforts. This isn't about averages, it's a cumulative view, it's a sum. Goff's TO ratio over the time DZ identified is poor. Period. Look at how bad your argument is: you haveby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Dz is correct in his assessment of Goff's turnovers. He's taking a sizable body of work and showing that Goff was responsible for a bunch of turnovers. His argument is sound. Goff is what his body of work says and in this case he's been responsible for far too many turnovers. Goff has shown improvement in this area. We all hope that as long as he's a Ram that he continues to improve his gaby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
We saw shades of McVay's "cutesy" play calling in year 2. He got a little too cute. It is a minor flaw that's grown. When I think of McVay failures I think of Bill Belichick at Cleveland. The caveat being that McVay has been a very winning HC. As noted, made the playoffs 3 out of 4 years. Belichick didn't do that at Cleveland. Yet somehow Belichick figured out how to make a conby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I live in the Detroit area. Until the Ford family gives up ownership they're always going to suck or be mediocre. To them, the team is a family toy, not taken seriously. That is seen by those who work for them, so they in turn do not take is as seriously as other franchises. It ripples down.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I believe we will win for these reasons: 1) GB will be rusty. 2) Our Defense is pretty good. 3) Our coach is excellent. I also believe that Goff will have to be "on" otherwise we don't win. Akers and the OLine run blocking isn't enough to win this game. Our QB has to deliver. Otherwise we lose. Goff will have to be better than average in order for us to win.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah Ramp2K, they really went over the top in their criticisms of Wilson. I think they've been so good for so long that they are demanding more. Imagine finishing 12-4 and screaming about it. They need a good dose of Detroit Lions' football! In a way I feel a little sorry for guys who overreact and can't think straight. In another way, thinking about what you said about our win putting tby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
McVay made the right call in starting Wolford. McVay said Wolford earned his position on the team and that he was confident in him. Goff has a busted thumb, you don't roll the dice on an unknown like that. Goff came in and did a good enough of a job to help get the win. But certainly the defense and running game won the day for us. Goff has had some good and bad games this year. Overaby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree StL. There is no other viable option. McVay isn't perfect but he's an excellent coach and his work has helped the team exceed expectations this year as well as in some previous years. He's earned the right to be trusted.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I've seen Watson have some bad games where his play hurt the Texans. AD doesn't have bad games.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree 100%. I really don't get why McVay doesn't let Brown run and catch more. I don't think either one of them can hold up to the pounding of 25-30 carries a game for long. At the end of the Seattle game Cam looked worn out.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks for posting that link LMU, it was interesting. I'm not sure how they calculate AV. It does look like longetivity has something to do with it but it's not certain. All of the players ahead of AD are among our greatest players. I think the praise heaped upon AD has been earned fully. I think during the Seattle game Troy Aikmen said something that AD might be the greatest defensive pby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
In my mind this is a toss up with the critical factor being just how well Goff's hand has recovered. I believe Goff is a better passer, Wolford a better runner, although he ran with some stupidity in diving in head first. Wolford's passes were not all that great but it was his first start. I expect him to be better the 2nd time around. There is truth in the criticism of Goff, he's not beenby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Wow, you're right, they is a mess! I thought some of us Rams fans whined and complained too much. We ain't got nothin on them. They're almost a frenzied mob. I wonder if they're going to march to Lumen field, take it over, and burn it down. Imagine going 12 and 4 and your fanbase demands your head on a pike! I do that often Head and I enjoy it a lot. My favorites I read so far are "Russel Wilson got beaten by an accountant and a guy with a broken thumb!" "Russel Wilson's QB rating was 17.6.
