Hey 43, I knew that by stating a fact that our defense is one of the top defenses in the league, that my observation of "lack of grit" would seem inconsistent. Perhaps I didn't articulate it well. I remember some of the great defenses of old, a few of which won SBs with average QBs: for example the Steelers (great QB), Ravens (average QB), and so forth. Hi Speed, That was a very nice post, thank you. It was impressive that you've watched all nine games to gather info. Your criticism of Goff is definitely not Goff-bashing but fair and accurate. I'd think most would agree with you. I think the Rams are a playoff caliber team but I don't think that at this point the Rams are a Super Bowl caliber team for these reasons: 1) Goff: I echo yby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com

77 and 75 yarders: work out with Rams: 60 yarder: 75 yarder in CFL: CFL highlights 2019: I honestly don't get why they didn't sign him. A guy who can kick 60 yarders reliably and you sent him on his way?by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I feel we have a team that matches up well with the Seahawks and I expect us to beat them in Seattle. I think Zona could be very difficult for us this year so I'd like to see them lose more.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com

Looks like TB's OLine have given up a hella lotta sacks.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Reads real good 43. I have similar feelings and viewpoints. Maybe one thing you missed: I loved the shot of McVay on the sidelines arguing at the ref. for the intentional grounding call against Wilson. And he got it! He looked all red in the face and veins bulging out, like it was serious life and death. I loved seeing our coach do that with such intensity.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Wow Rampage, never heard of this site! So fun to watch and it was great that Woods won! Thank you.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women Maybe I'm a bad person but I so enjoy hearing their lamentations. As Mr. Brown said, "I feel good!"by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
What makes you assume McVay learned a lesson? Do we really know the reasons Sloman won the job? It sounds like "favoritism" is an assumption on your part. But maybe there's a McVay statement that says, "I picked Sloman because he went to my college." Most everybody on this board wanted Sloman gone 2 weeks before the was ditched. The Rams' brains were a little slow in sby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Alright Rams and Rams, maybe I'm being too harsh. I tend to be pessimistic. No doubt he's done great when he started, wasn't he coach of the year? He had genuine creativity on offense but I think the league caught up with him. I expected that by now he'd figured some of these things that are obvious. He has a good team and talent, if I'm wrong he'll whip the next set of teams and get easby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Here's one quote I don't like: "What do we feel like we do best? Then how do we implement the things from our players to then attack some of the schemes and different things that they're doing? For us, I think we're at our best when we are balanced, when we've got the ability to have kind of your runs go with some of the stuff you're doing in the pass game." The run was working in tby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
You're right Max, it feels odd to me that so many teams have near equal records at the top and it means the Rams have a good shot at making the playoffs. Nothing I've seen from the Rams so far this year inspires great confidence. McVay's mistakes at SF and Miami makes me think he lacks "top level coach" ability. He is a far better coach than Fisher, by a mile, but I don't see him wby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
We lost and it sucks, it was an embarrassing loss. McVay got his ass kicked. Whether he was too cute, or he turtled up a la Coach Klein, I don't know for sure, but he choked. The better team won that day. It is comforting to relive the past and think, "if only, he shoulda, we coulda," because it changes a memory's reality, it's a fantasy.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Rock, I live in the Detroit area and hear the Lion's fans talk all the time. You're comments are good and made me laugh. Not at your comment but by how it aligns with the lament of the Lions' fans: "Each time an average player leaves the team he becomes an all-star on the other team! Our Coaching stinks!" There are so many great Lion's jokes. Here's hoping that you, and they,by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com

After such a great performance against the Bears I've got to think they'll beat Miami.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The Detroit fans were not enamored with Robinson near the end of his contract. I'm not sold on the criticism in the article but it does denote a drop in Robinson's effectivity. He reminds me of Suh when he played for the Rams, i.e. not going all out but rather coasting on each play. Maybe that was due to bad coaching in Detroit. "Why are the Detroit Lions like possums?" I would love to see him do that to Jimmy Garapolo. It would give me great pleasure and memories. (No, I didn't say that).by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thank you Alyo for all your write ups. They're a pleasure to read. I agree with Rambro. I didn't mind the conservative play called during the fourth. Goff was good but not great. Why give the Bears an opportunity for a pick. I also was disappointed in Wood for his fumble.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think Merlin's right. The 9ers whipped us bad then they they whipped up on NE. They're an impressive team, depleted with injuries but moving strong.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Jack Snow has always been my sentimental favorite. Gabriel to Snow was art, just like the Russian five were art for the Detroit Redwings. But I think Ellard may have been the best overall that I've seen. I never got to see Hirsh or Fears.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
That's an interesting observation Suh. I've always liked Gurley and I've hoped for the best for him but it looks like he's definitely on the decline. I would have liked for him to have stayed healthy and remained with the Rams. He delivered some great games for us.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 Well, Staley’s guys were certainly far more ‘physical’ this week, huh? Great to see. Wow, definitely! I did not believe they were capable of that level of D. play and physicality. Such a pleasure to watch. Our D outplayed the Chicago D!by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
This is harder to decide than the 49er game. I think Nagy is a very good coach, perhaps better than McVay overall. Chi defense vs Rams' offense. Defense usually wins. Special teams - edge Shy Town. I've bounced back and forth on this one for the last few days.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
You claim that PFF doesn't account for "context" but if you read the article thoroughly, you'll find that they actually go out of their way to account for context in their analysis. from the PFF article: "A MORE DETAILED ANALYSIS Ok, that was a lot of aggregating, and while pressure rate at the season level may be more on the quarterback than on the offensive line, what abouby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
"Now here's the blindspot with PFF. They don't differentiate between problem OLs and just regular OL play. Problem OLs do more than just put the qb under pressure. It never just reduces to pressures. Yet they have no way of accounting for that and seem not even to be aware it's an issue. They are good at doing numbers in the abstract but their numbers do not account for contexts." I grew up eating Philly soft pretzels then we moved out west. I missed that most, 2nd was good cheesesteaks. I have ordered pretzels to be shipped to where I live now, but it costs an arm and leg, and they are so fattening. So I only get them every few years.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
