I felt similar to you about the Atwell pick. I felt really let down when they didn't draft a center and I chalked it up to McVay's penchant for being tricksey and cute. I can't see that little guy lasting long or making much of an impact. I'm no OLine expert but our current cast of characters doesn't overly impress me. Like most everyone else I think they need OLine help. OTOH, I give Mcby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm thinking they got a poor return for their investment. The 9ers gave up a lot to draft a QB with a small resume. He excelled where he played but he's played a short time in a weaker conference. He may develop into a great QB but I don't expect him to flourish this year. For what they gave up I'd except to see something more solid. For the amount the 9ers gave up I'd expect to seeby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with you guys about Holmes. I've liked what I've seen him do. I'm not sold on that coach however.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, thank you guys for spending so much of your time and energy and sharing your knowledge with us. It is appreciated.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks Zn for the detailed answer. I was wondering how our D could have played so poorly.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
1) Do you guys think that the colder temp had a strong negative effect on the team's performance? 2) Similarly, do you think fatigue also was a strong factor? That game against Seattle was tough. It's odd to have had the #1 defense play so poorly. I'm not taking anything away from a good GB team but I think there was more to it than Rodgers and company.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
43, Thanks for posting, taking a look back at stuff is healthy. I remember when this was first posted and I thought that some people were reading more into Snead's comment than intended. I was wrong; it was a harbinger of things to come. Don't let the board police hinder you from your posts, you usually post real good things, as do most all of the posters.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
43, I guess we have different definitions or scales for "train wreck." Matt Patricia and the Lions were a train wreck. I wouldn't call a QB who gets you to the playoff and wins the first game a train wreck. Also, I don't think you were taking a victory lap. I thought for the most part you've been very fair and balanced in your posts. Maybe a little too harsh on Goff now, but thatby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Hi Max, Here is your quote: "Let other point fingers at McVay all they want for the losses. I'm pointing the finger squarely at Goff." Perhaps I misunderstood you, but that statement above told me that you were blaming Goff for all the losses. I am not trying to misrepresent you, that's simply how I understood your statement. Like you, I hate it when people take my words outby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree that Goff was a big part of the problem and that he had a down year. The data states that. However, with Goff we did make the playoffs and win the first PO game. Certainly Goff gets some credit for that. Max stated: "Let other point fingers at McVay all they want for the losses. I'm pointing the finger squarely at Goff." I have to disagree that Goff was a train wreck oby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Hi 43, I am having a bit of trouble understanding the point of your post. Are you saying that Goff had regressed to the point of being bad, inept, and unable to perform well enough to win stressful games? Or are you saying that Goff's performance at that point, (following the SF loss), was an indicator of continuing bad performance and of McVay's decision to dump him? If not, please telby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Nicecatch summed up the argument nicely. Family members are not always the same but in this case the Ford's track record has been consistently poor. Sure, maybe, this new lady will work wonders, but I doubt that you'd put any money on it Zn. You can argue academics all you want but I doubt you really believe it. Personally, I'd like to see the Lions do good as it would bring a lot of joyby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Hey Leo, If I may, last year many of us thought that the OLine would be terrible, or at best mediocre but they did ok for themselves. I think we can be a bit confident in McVay and what's he doing with the OLine. Don't give up the ship too early, our coach has earned the benefit of the doubt. I think we can have some hope.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm glad the Rams got Stafford but the one stat that concerns me is the INTs. 43, how does Stafford's INTs stack up against the other QBs who started for 5 years during that time?by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Everything Nicecatch stated is true. It's the same org. Same family ownership. I've lived in the Detroit area for a very long time and even 20 years ago local pundits stated that the team would be mediocre as long as it's owned by the Fords. When I got here their coach was Wayne Fontes. He'd be about 8-8 each year more or less. They got rid of him because he wasn't able to take them furtby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, it sounds like the guy has a bias and it muddles and inhibits his thinking. I think we've all known sports fans like that. I once had a German national who was a Schalke soccor fan insult me at work because I liked Bayern. I know and care very little about German soccer but this guy was nuts for Schalke. As I mentioned I ended a 30 year long friendship with a good friend because he weby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteClassicalwit You know what it is? Most people don't know how to construct arguments anymore; they only argue from assertion. I mean they don't understand most of the time why, or how something is contradictory! You're asserting that most people are so stupid that they can't see or realize a contradictory statement! Or, is it a case of situational blindness? We probably all have friends wby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com

I couldn't get it to play. Do I have to register and have an account to watch the video?by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Hey, I don't fault him for talking smack. He spoke the truth about them whipping us for 2 years. Maybe he knows that Shanny has McVay's number and he's confident in his team's style of play being able to defeat the Rams. To me, it is embarrassing that with all the talent we have that we weren't able to win at least one of those games.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree Bear. Statistically Zak has been pretty good, but at times he seems to get lost. If the cap remains tight this will hurt Dallas, which I think is good for us.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
That was impressive.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I've realized the same thing you said Rock, our management swooped in and paid well for what is perceived as a top QB, the best available. I feel pretty good about getting the pick of the litter while now other teams are competing for the leftovers. It was a smart move by the Rams, time will tell if it pans out. It reminds me of how much we paid for AD, but that surely has proven to have beenby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
John Shaw was a poison in the Rams' org. That shows you what bad management does to organizations. One man can make a huge difference towards success or failure. I remember the slow demise of the Rams under his watch and I remember how the fans in LA began to turn against the team. It was sad.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I remember reading an analysis article on 1st and 2nd round "skill" draft picks vs linemen draft picks. It showed that there was a 60% chance that the skill picks would pan out whereas the non-skilled picks only had a 40% chance. It's been a while and maybe I've forgotten the exact percentages but it showed that taking the skill positions had a greater chance of the players grow intoby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Really nice work Mamaram! Great job, thank you. Is anybody aware of any ex-coaches badmouthing McVay? With such a large turnover I'd expect that if working for McVay sucked then some of these guys would have commented. I agree that this whole thing seems fishy, but McVay has established himself as a proven winner. He's earned my benefit of the doubt.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I like your analysis' percentages Bear. I've never tried to put things into a percentage viewpoint. Thank you.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Winning a SB takes a lot of things to come together and work properly. It's a team game and the players and the coaches have to be getting it right, as one unit, at the right time. The Rams' have lost a lot of important coaches this season. If Staley is really as great as they say he is than that departure weakens the team. How many times have we seen great teams make it to the SB and fail?by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Watch this video and tell me that Stafford doesn't have fire or isn't a leader. This was a much-abused QB pushing a weak team to victory. Lesser men would not have put all their guts into winning like Stafford did. matt stafford sneak against the cowboys Jansen only played a year or two with Stafford, maybe Stafford improved.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
