Quotezn That everyone thinks that is all entirely about the qb is both unsurprising but also a bit frustrating. ... Zn, I don't think that anyone on this board thinks the problems are entirely about the QB. Even some of Goff's strongest critics have acknowledged other factors such as McVay's play calling, dropped passes, OLine issues, etc. I agree with Rambro. 43, Never did I think that I'd be encouraging you!. You know it's a cold day in hell when I, a pessimist, am encouraging our board's leading optimist. Things to be optimistic about: - 4 straight winning seasons! How long has it been since we could have said that? - Aaron Donald! - A great defense, cut Staley some slack. - Maybe we make the playoffs! - McVay is what his record says heby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I'd stay with Goff and find/develop a capable back up QB. I have not given up on Goff. I believe he is capable of winning a SB. He is still young and I believe he's going to get better.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I feel the same way Lalo. It's disheartening to see them blow "gimmie" games. This is the NFL and no team should ever be discounted, but to lose a game like that displays a significant weakness.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I noticed that Green Bay OLines were the top. They lead the NFL in points scored. Pretty impressive. Their D seems to be a bit below average.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks for posting that Ram. It was very enjoyable.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Reeder has gotten better over the last year. He seems a couple steps faster than Kiser.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com

Sometimes I feel that way too. Sometimes no matter how hard I try I can't get it right. So, it seems when I don't predict I am happily surprised, like tonight!by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
During the course of the season every game is critical unless you've locked up the top seed before the end of the season. It's time to get off the pendulum of "Goff bad --> Goff good" and/or "McVay bad --> McVay good." Both are good. I do agree that it would be nicer to beat the Pats than say the Washington win. Even if we lose we are still in the hunt and McVay/Goby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Pathological liar? Isn't that a bit harsh and over the top? A few years ago I wished that Stan would have offered Belicheck a huge chuck of change and brought him to LA to be our HC. He isn't a confirmed pathological liar but he is a confirmed great coach. Football is war, or call it gamesmanship if you will; "all warfare is based on deception."by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Wentz helped the Eagles get a ring, Goff failed. If the Eagles were my #1 team, (btw, they're my #2 team), I'd be quite happy that they picked Wentz over Goff. Now the Eagles are eating the dirt of disappointment but they still savor the sweetness of their precious. I still taste the SB defeat. All that being said, I am still glad we drafted Goff over Wentz. I still believe that Goff iby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not Merlin but I agree that McVay has some weaknesses or blind spots. He's a damn site better than Fisher but not yet fully mature or well rounded.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think Goff has an upside, I believe he can improve. - He's proven that he has the physical skills to be a great QB. That was a couple years ago but the physical skills are there. - He's worked hard to improve himself, i.e. he is taking his game seriously. - Someone else said that he's "coachable." That also is in his favor. I think his problems are more mental. I think McVaby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Only the Detroit Lions would be stupid enough to do something like that. Wentz is a dead man walkin.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I live in the Detroit area and nobody in their right mind would want Patricia. He has a bad history from his college days and he was unpopular with his players. Most Detroit fans I know will be celebrating him and Quinn's firing. He was an idiot from his first day, and his drafting record was bad. I used to tell so many good jokes about Patrica to tease my Lion's friends. I had a lot ofby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
No storm from me Steve, you actively watched and I respect your opinion. Maybe Goff would have won a ring there, I can't say. Goff is definitely not a bad QB, instead overall he's been pretty good.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams don't have a lack of O-weapons, if anything there are too many hungry chicks to feed. Don't forget we also have Van J. who is plenty fast. Why mix up the team's chemistry 2/3 through the season just to bring on insurance in case of injury? Would Stills be happy with being signed to the practice squad?by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Such an incompetent class. If I was Doug P. I would be more than annoyed having to be questioned by bozos. Heck, even the real Bozo would be a better journalist than the clown, Marcus Hayes, who wrote that article.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Speed, IMO, Vermeil is the only option because he got us a ring. Unless McVay gets us a ring then he'll never make my Mt. Rushmore.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
You're right Malibu, there are so many factors that influence a team's and a player's play. Like Yogi Berra said, "Football is 90% mental and the other half is physical." Everything from weather to turf to personal issues. To me, it has to boil down to the W/L record. His record is who is was/is. There are a million reasons, excuses, whoulda, coulda, might have beens out there.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The comeback site has goff "power ranking" ranked 12th. I'm not sure how they determined that ranking. This espn site has goff QBR ranked 21st for the season. They appear to give some stats behind their ranking. Rounding off, PFF has goff graded at 76. I don't have access to their complete stats, but J. Grapola is 68, D. Carr is 81, K. Murray is 82, Wentz is 66.4. So I'm assby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I saw this and was really surprised at how much they are actually making! Biggest surprise to me was that some OLine men are making real big bucks.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thank you Malibu, that was a pleasure to watch. So nice.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Hell yes we're spoiled! I live in the Detroit area and I'm sometimes teasingly cruel to my friends who are Lions fans. It's such an easy target! And they've been down for so long, they always laugh and agree, (well except for one guy who's a diehard Lion's fan, man I was bad to him). So yeah, we complain about McVay and Goff, but we have it better than most. Now we're complaining thatby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with you DZ, of course there is a subjective element in identifying a "pressure. That's why there are disparate numbers. I wonder exactly what methodology, if any, is used for each source's counting. I would also suspect that a source might have his own bias, and/or special motivations, involved in the counting. I think Zn stated it nicely when he said that Goff, playcalling, and the OLine have improved. I like that he pointed out the "pressure" stats and showed that this is more than a "one-game" improvement. Goff is young and its reasonable to expect more improvement from him.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com

"re Goff - I think the difference between this years Rams and other teams with average QBs that have gotten to or win the SB is that the Rams have weapons and McVay. And while I believe Goff pretty much is what he is there is small but fading part of me that hopes he can get hot like Flacco or Foles did in the Ravens and Eagles SB run."
