I've lived in Detroit for a long time now and Stafford has elevated Detroit. Remember, we're talking about the Lions. We've had some poor QBs up here during the last 20 years. Stafford has helped them from being at the very bottom all the time. He's been cursed by lousy head coaches. These guys were worse than Fisher, perhaps with the exception of Cauldwell.
Here is my favorite Stafford play. It was against the Cowboys:
Stafford has been with the Lions for a long time and has suffered with some horrible teams as well.
Stafford has gotten more injuries as he's aged. He was kinda like an iron man early on, but not anymore. He's taken a horrible beating over the years. A couple of years ago his back got injured bad. Many people in Detroit thought he should have retired. He didn't but since that time he came back and has done ok.
I could see a one to one swap Goff for Stafford. I think Stafford has several years left on his contract for big money but I'm not sure. We should be able to get one or two good seasons out of him. On the other hand he might be mentally finished. I don't know.
