QuoteRams43 Ask ourselves this question. What has changed for Goff between the ‘18 and ‘19 seasons? It’s the play of the danged OL! The OL has affected Goff, Gurley/Brown/Henderson, and has affected McVay’s play calling options. Huge miscalculations were made by the FO and coaches re our current OL prospects. Almost unforgivable for a SB worthy team. It really ticks me off to think thby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRampage2K- QuoteRamUK i said he *can* look like a bottom 5 QB when he misses wide open receivers by 10 yards. And he can. He'll in fact he does. Not saying he is a bad QB. Sacks turned into big plays.... he is just the best in the game at turning disaster Credit to Wilson....he is everything to that team. Quoteferragamo79 right? It was just too early to take that risk. But no, a 2 point conversion at that point wouldn't have decided the game. SO many things would have likely played out differently. Quotedzrams Quotemoklerman Do they show the percentages? 80 total is directly related to throwing it more than anyone else too(or maybe second most attempts). Also, relying on PFF for subjective stats is a bit dicey. I don't trust that they are identifying "pressure" accurately. Hits and sacks seem like better numbers to examine. Less perception involved. QuoteRampage2K- Well I hope Vinny wasn't expecting a bunch of runs last week being down 21-0 vs the leagues top run defense And I wouldn't expect much this week either if it somehow goes south for our defense again.....Seattle is currently 6th vs the run, but somehow have been giving up almost 300 yards per game in passing at home this year. Had two dropped TD's so I don't know how much blame Rodgers should get. He isn't perfect but he does do some amazing things. Not to mention that last play that was intercepted was PI. And it was the second time in the game that the refs let the defense hit the receiver and pull his arms down before the ball got there and didn't throw a flag.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't need to re-watch them, Goff was still displaying inconsistency in both of those games and the offense wasn't in rhythm. McVay was doing everything he could to get Goff back into a rhythm by playing him as much as he did in those last 2 games. Like I said, the stats looked better but Goff was not back to what he was against the Vikings and Chiefs. He's still having the same types of pby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteHe looked really good in the Niner game and Cardinals game to end the year, I don't think that's quite right. His numbers were better but he didn't look much different. Since he was playing bottom dwelling teams his inconsistent play still produced better stats but his issues seemed to still be there.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
But do you think that level of play will hold up long term? Against playoff teams? Stats don't tell the whole story but they help evaluate how a player is performing at his position. When you are 25th in passer rating, that isn't so good. When you're on a good team, the team can overcome those mediocre stats. W/L record is a TEAM stat, not a QB stat. I don't know what to think. I've been getting frustrated by McVay's approach and playcalling recently but I also know that Goff is struggling to see open receivers and/or choosing to force passes instead of what the defense is giving. Not sure which is more problematic right now. Leaning toward Goff since the calls aren't so bad if the right read is made. Preserving Gurley hasn't worked welby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
To put it in perspective, Josh Allen and the Bills are very similar to Goff and the Rams right now. Allen and Goff have nearly an identical stat line and both teams are 3-0. I think it warrants concern to "be" the Bills. I don't believe in them at all so I'm not keen on the Rams being the same.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, it's too early to make a call on the o-line. 3 games in with no preseason means it's going to takes some time to gel. All in all, Goff hasn't been harassed too much but I think the unit would benefit from running it more and running it more directly. All night and it seems like so far this year, the running game has been best when they aren't trying to get too tricky or to take it outsidby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemax Its not looking good right now for Goff. He's had 2 sub 80 games out of 3.Goff isn't all bad but he isn't playing well, that's for sure. Thought he was coming out of it last week as the stats aren't really representative of how he played. But this week he was back to his subpar ways and since the bye last year, he still hasn't refound his rhythm. They NEED to get Gurley and the runnby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRockRam This is not a complaint; just an observation. The Air Raid system was tried in previous years but didn't work. Why? 1) QBs were not protected like snowflakes. 2) WRs were clobbered and so could only take so much. 3) PI and defensive holding and illegal contact is much more rigidly enforced and the advantage is very great for the Receiver.Yes, it's almost ridiculous how quicby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com

But his knee is shot. He physically can't be on an NFL field at this point. Very polarizing figure for Rams fans but he dealt with a LOT of challenges that he seemingly didn't deserve. Goff has been at less than 1 TD and around 200 yards in most of his starts since the bye last year though. He has looked out of sorts for much of that time too. His accuracy and timing haven't been what they were. He's looked off and produced less. That isn't demanding perfection, that's just pointing out that he's going through some struggles lately.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com

Quotemax Quotemoklerman Quotemax Quotemoklerman The Saints game wasn't a complete game by him either. He came up big in overtime to seal the win but an 83 rating and what could have easily been a loss isn't disproving the idea that Goff hasn't been the same QB that he was against the Vikings and Chiefs. the passer rating formula is an efficiency quotient, not necessarily a production gauge. Which is a big part of the conversation about Goff IMO. In the 9 games since the bye being discussed, he has just once produced more than 1 passing TD. So, the rating against AZ is 118 but the production was 200 yards and 1 TD. Which is a higher rating than his 117 rating against KC but does anyone thinkby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
