I don't know what to think. I've been getting frustrated by McVay's approach and playcalling recently but I also know that Goff is struggling to see open receivers and/or choosing to force passes instead of what the defense is giving. Not sure which is more problematic right now. Leaning toward Goff since the calls aren't so bad if the right read is made.
Preserving Gurley hasn't worked well at all. But again, there is a potentially big reason for it. The o-line is all new and has not worked together. They didn't get a preseason and they've been less than spectacular thus far. So, the running game and pass blocking have been a little shaky. But Gurley has looked "slow". Both in moves and speed and his head hasn't been right for a long time. Dropped passes and fumbles have come at the worst times and he really has seemed detached. He used to be the most complete RB in the league and now they don't even throw it to him and worse, take him out of red zone situations.
I think we all hope that McVay, Goff and Gurley snap out of it and it all gels together but as each game goes by and considering how most of the 2nd half of the season went last year, it becomes more worrisome.
