I think Gurley is lost to McVay and the Rams. He has gone beyond frustrated and just given up IMO. 6 carries on MNF? 12 carries in the SB? McVay, for whatever reason, can't find a way to use, much less feature Gurley and I think Gurley's sick of it. I also don't know what the team felt about trading away Peters. He may have been a locker room favorite for all I know and his departure wasby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Brady was a 2nd year starter and led the league in TD passes. Not sure how that is sucking. The Testaverde example illustrates the opposite of what you're going for though. Many are worried that Goff is someone who needs the stars to align to have success and are critical of that level of play because ANY starting caliber QB should have success when things fall the right way. Which is exactby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
One thing that might be working in Goff's favor, sort of, is how the other McVay disciples are doing right now. If you look at the Bengals and Packers, both of their QB's are generally having trouble make this type of offense go. Add in Jay Gruden who got fired and it suggests to me that the league really focused on neutering whatever it is that those offenses were so successful at.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Weddle was bad in so many ways and it sure seemed like he did little to help the Rams offense against the Ravens D. I get the feeling that the opposite could be said of Peters. He dissected and exploited the Rams D for the Ravens O.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams tried some quick stuff last night. Screens to Gurley and the WR's but the defense was just sitting on them. No chance for success because there was no element of surprise or fear of anything deep. The o-line hasn't been great but I still say they have been functional. Defenses just don't respect the Rams ability to hit the intermediate and deep passes consistently. Anyone know whoby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRampage2K- QuoteSpeed_Kills did you hear Kurt Warner talking about Jared Goff do you think he knows something about it smh Lol. Yeah, I've been saying for quite a while now that there was a clear starting point and continuation to Goff's troubles. Since that KC game, he hasn't been the same QB. Putting up 54 points in prime time for all the league to see, IMO, woke the dragon. Defenses went to extra effort to diffuse what the Rams were doing. I have also contended that what made things so easy for Goff(under McVayby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Your opinion of the Rams o-line situation doesn't seem realistic. You continually try and paint a picture of the Rams dealing with an excessive amount of injuries and turmoil that just doesn't seem to line up with reality. No one is arguing that an o-line isn't important and I don't think anyone is unaware of the pieces being shuffled but other teams deal with those sorts of things all theby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Jimmy Garappalo hasn't fallen to pieces even though the 49ers o-line has been oft-injured and shuffled. Goff is missing plays that are there to be made, that's all there is to it. No one would criticize him for not maintaining the gaudy numbers when everything was perfect but he isn't even a viable starter right now. He is literally outside the top 30 of QB ratings and that isn't because tby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
McVay hasn't exactly been dazzling with his playcalling but I have long wondered if he was hamstrung by his QB. Last year's Bears game for example, he was. There have been plays to be made and Goff is inconsistent at best at making them. They aren't always huge misses. There was an early deep shot to Cooks last night. He had one on one coverage and it was a good read. But Goff threw the bby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
What an embarrassment. Game was over in the 2nd quarter but I stuck it out past halftime to see if they would show ANY signs of life. This team is demoralized and just got schooled on national tv. Same old story for the Rams. Reminds me of the Everett led '80's teams. Made it to the cusp but ultimately were posers.by moklerman - Game Time Forum
The problem is, the refs aren't acting independently of the league. If the league wanted, it could hire younger, faster, full-time officials but it doesn't. They are a part of the show.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRampage2K- We are on pace to have like 1000 more flags this year than less than 10 years ago....it's getting to be completely out of control. Raiders just got called for roughing the passer on a sack in the red zone that just gave the Jets a free TD. I'd like to say it was the worst call I've seen this year, but it is just one of many horrific calls we've seen this year. UnbelievableIfby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Well, no one said that running the ball and blocking were the same, did they? But to suggest that being on an NFL field, blocking, running decoys or whatever has no impact on an arthritic knee that needs the level of monitoring that you're suggesting seems unlikely. They just had to stop him at 12 carries because of the knee. But they ran him out there 45 more plays which is no problem. Rigby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
What's Trubisky going to get? Because that is where Goff is playing right now and what the Rams, if they'd waited, would likely be paying.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotesacram So I guess it is a huge coincidence that the week where TG's services were most needed, his arthritic knee felt much better for 28 touches worth. I guess this is the very first time this season where his knee felt ok??? Hopefully we could all agree, that TG getting TWELVE touches in a game that he is on the field for 57 plays in a very tight game doesn't seem like it is a winningby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I can see the NFL using it to gauge interest in those areas. I think they would want a team back in SD more than anywhere else but they might want one back in St. Louis.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with your point, Bears fans probably are sick that they passed on Watson/Mahommes. But Rams fans spent even MORE on Goff and he is rated LOWER than Trubisky!!!by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't think we or the reporter actually knows what relationship Weddle has with his teammates so hopefully this is much ado about nothing. This article is based on when he signed with the Rams more than something he just said. I agree that it wasn't the smartest thing to say or probably what Weddle intended but that's just guessing. That's the big difference in the situation. It really doesn't matter how much a stadium costs if the owner is the one that's paying for it. Yes, the fans will eventually pay for it but that is who should be paying for it. Not taxpayers who have no interest in football. I think the owners with deep pockets that are willing to spend on their teams should give their fans more.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com

from everything in this thread, my guess would be the Chiefs giving him a try before the Rams. The Chiefs and Andy Reid are known for giving troubled players another chance...which has worked and not worked but it is more the culture than here IMO. Second, they have more of a need. #10 seems to be getting injured more often and the Chiefs are more reliant on their WR corps than the Rams. Mby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't think there's an actual yes or no answer to the question. More running and more featuring of Gurley I agree should continue. But ground and pound as a rule, not really. Just as teams eventually loaded up to stymie the Rams pass-heavy, predictable play calling they would do the same if the Rams tried to emulate the Hogs. IMO, it's all about predictability and flexibility. I guessby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
It isn't about secrets as much as it's about loyalty. Weddle seems to still be loyal to "his" guys...who are still in Baltimore. What about the guys he's playing with now? No, it assumes that Gurley is being used less than he is capable of being used and featured less when he's actually in the game. Take the Pittsburgh game. It's just another in a line of examples of Gurley being relegated to decoy or spectator and I've not heard any mention of him be physically unable to be in the game. It is my uninformed opinion that a rift has developed between McVay and Gurley. It started last year. Gurley had some crucial mistakes and drops and was punished for it in the form of playing less. That has continued into this year and I think Gurley's demeanor supports this idea. He is often not used in the red zone, much less featured and we all know just how little he's getting the ball inby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
