QuoteRamstien Rams 38 Jags 10. Rams finally put it together.Who knows what the score will be but I echo this sentiment. Rams get healthy against the Jags.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
While it's true the offense has run into a rough patch, we still put up 28 points on the road against #1 GB. Conversely, the defense has struggled since it's first drive this year. The soft, drive sustaining approach they have employed has consistently given up points and kept our own offense off the field. That has been one of the biggest problems with this team. QuoteBearlyThere Thank you, good share! I also liked this referenced chart: I bet if they update it for 2021, Stafford has dropped dramatically in this offense.I don't understand what an EPA/dropback is? Stafford is half way between 0.0 and 0.1. The scale looks like there is something going on but other than Mahomes being out in front of everyone, many of the QB's are between 0.0 to juby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamgator Seriously, I liked what I saw of the Wolf last year, before he jammed his neck. But after what I saw this past preseason, I REALLY think Perkins is gonna be JAM UP. I REALLY hope the Rams hang on to him because I will be surprised if Stafford lasts two more years. Are Rams fans overreacting? At 6'3", 215 lbs he has plenty of speed and he ran a 4.35 out of college. I wonder if he'd be willing to return punts and kicks for cheap? McVay reclamation project? End zone threat? QuoteAtlantic Ram I agree with a lot of it. I honestly don't have a problem with Stafford yet. It will be interesting to see how the season plays out.I don't know why, but now that it isn't gameday, I feel a lot less trepidation about Stafford. Like the heart, but hate the choice. Why do we seem like the only team that is seemingly conceding any possibility of a long return. Michel has no speed and little elusiveness that I've seen and is a terrible choice as KR. How do we not have a speed guy that can field kicks? I know, Tutu should have been that guy. Grrr.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
In watching highlights of the game, it struck me that while there is plenty to criticize right now, there are also some good things going on. That we got a 74 and 59 yard TD shows that there are still playmakers making plays. As Rams fans, we have done long stretches where explosive plays never happened. As bad as we played and as many mental errors that are being struggled through, it was a 1by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJimYoungblood53 Quotemoklerman . Stafford was successful at the time and there was nothing wrong with concluding that he had been a success "so far".. Never mind the rest of your rant, which I deleted. You can never judge a trade until more of the facts are in. The price Rams paid was heavy. And stafford has one job. QuoteJoeMad The PICK 6 he threw vs Tennessee after he foolishly threw an int from his own end zone while spinning backwards? Or the PICK 6 in SF after throwing a hanger to OBJ ? Or the PICK 6 by Douglass in GB ? Maybe the one that bounced off of Higby in SF, but Stafford had a few more missed targets that should have resulted in more picks in GB and SF Good quarterbacks do not pby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJimYoungblood53 but I think we need to weight your credibility You busted by chops because I said "wait and see" on the Stafford trade. You said it was a huge success after what? 3 weeks? 5 weeks? So, I stand by by record.Who would have guessed you're motivated by "I told you so"? Worse, you're not even right. I think it's too much to excuse Stafford on those plays that may not have been on him because he's got so many that are clearly on him. The first drive against SF for example. Rams are moving the ball and he chucks up a jump ball on first down that gets intercepted. There was no need to force anything in that situation and he just heaved into double coverage. It illustrates a serious lack ofby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
This is what I've seen. Whether it's the same as what they were dong last year under Staley, it's not working now. Against GB, there were shots of Ramsey looking frustrated at being taken off of Adams and I agree. With what we've got, it makes the most sense to me that we use Ramsey to shut down the opposition's top receiver. At least with a team like GB where their top guy dominates looks.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com

While I haven't been happy with Stafford, I'm more puzzled than convinced of anything just yet. It's easy to say he sucks but he's still putting up night and day numbers compared to the previous few years for the Rams. The untimely errors are obviously the problem more than the cumulative numbers but what puzzles me are the cold starts. I would add that it's disingenuous to compare the two GB games. Donald was not Donald last year since he was injured. Not that he's himself this year but just that difference makes any comparison apples to oranges. Also, while the offense does deserve criticism and the defense is by no means solely responsible, they have been way too soft in every sense of the word. And they've been that waby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
They were 7-3 and riding high. Warner was in the MVP conversation and their passing game looked really good. Then they lost 4 out of 5 games and were blown out in NE as they tried to make the playoffs. It took them hitting rock bottom to make a change in their approach but they re-committed to a more balanced attack and even a plodding, old, Edgerrin James was enough to keep defenses honest.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, that 3 and out after one of the long GB drives was a killer. There are just SO many issues right now. One that has been recurring, a big part of the quick possessions, is Stafford's accuracy issues. Especially early in games. I don't know how to explain those. It seems that every game, he has to really work himself into being able to complete passes. If I was McVay, I would be callingby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
But don't you think they actually gave the run game a fair shot yesterday? I was actually pleased with how many times they attempted to establish the run but our guys just weren't getting bubkis. I was actually thinking during the game that I really can't remember a long run from one of our RB's. I'm probably just forgetting but it seems that we so rarely get anything longer than 10 yards thatby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Quote3030 QuoteClassicalwit Mokes, I'm not clear on what you are saying. Why does the way the Chiefs and Cowboys are playing have anything to do with the Rams? QuoteEkern55 Winning back the locker room will be a challenge for sure. It’s funny how people are looking at Stafford now and thinking he’s the same guy as he was in Detroit. Well, what was the one stat people brought up as an albatross around Stafford’s neck when he was in Detroit? In his decade plus time there, he only had a running back rush for more than 100 yards in six games.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteAlbaNY_Ram Might be a little early for that. The Packer game is the only one the Rams have played since that suit was settled. You're right but I should have said since the lawsuit. This definitely seems like the biggest problem with out offense. Stafford is dropping back and having nowhere to throw on top of everything else. Defenses have no fear of our running game and are able to drop into coverage with no chance of an explosive running play. Obviously, our OL isn't equipped to block under these circumstances. QuoteGreat Bordeni I don't mind the call one bit. I blame the two blockers failing to stop one guy from making the tackle and the running back not diving for it. Sense of urgency. QuoteRamstien As a Ram fan this is a hard team to watch. I personally stopped watching 7 minutes into the first quarter. Stafford has not looked ready to play in the 1st quarter of any game that I can remember, even the games they won. McVay just seems to be exasperating the problem with his play calling.
