I wanted to be an actress. By the time I got to college, I had changed my mind and wanted to be a teacher. My degree is in Elementary Education.
I taught in the public school system for five years before I realized I didn't want to do that for 30 years. I wasn't sure what to do. So I became a singing waitress and a substitute teacher while I tried to sort out what do with the rest of my life. A couple of people I worked with at the restaurant were college grads who had full-time jobs at the phone company. They suggested I apply for a management position there because they had a special program at the time for college grads.. I did... they hired me... and I ended up working in Operator Services and then IT for 34 years. That was one of the best decisions I ever made.
