Re: Our talks about "Modern" crap products...Yesterday, I chatted quite a while with our Mechanic.

I bought my 2015 Toyota Camry in 2018. It had 32,000 mi on it at the time and has never been wrecked. Since I only drive around 4,000 mi a year, all I've had done are oil changes. My son has a 2014 Toyota Camry that we bought 2 years ago and my daughter has a 2020 Mazda 6 that we got last summer. We are all very happy with our cars and they haven't had any problems whatsoever.

I drove a Mazda 626 from 1986-2018. Loved that make and model and bought a new Mazda in 1986, 1990, and 2000. When I bought my first one Consumer Reports had the Toyota Camry as the #1 car and the Mazda 626 as the number 2 car. I chose the Mazda because they had a 2-door hatchback model and Yoyota didn't. When my 18 yr old Mazda was about to bite the dust, I wanted a car that would hopefully be my last cart but finding a Toyota with low miles was tough. It's not a car people are willing to sell so inventory is low. But I got lucky and found just what I was looking for. I love my car. I think I could probably sell it today for more than I paid for it but I have no desire to do that. It's a great car for me and at my age, after 50 yr of driving a stick shift (all my Mazdas and VW beetles had them) I'm also glad I made the switch from a stick shift to an automatic.

LesBaker103May 06, 2024 01:30PM

My rant is backed up by THREE Mechanics at a highly respected Automotive.

Ramgator77May 08, 2024 03:39PM

Just 12-13 years ago, Honda Elements were EVERYWHERE.

Ramgator67May 08, 2024 03:44PM

Dude its fairly common knowledge dealerships are a rip off on parts and service

LesBaker72May 09, 2024 03:33AM

Talked to a Nissan Service Manager about that about 7 years ago.

Ramgator75May 09, 2024 09:22AM

sstrams69May 08, 2024 04:26PM

I'll be told I'm wrong by Board experts but cars have little value at all as soon as you drive off the lot.

Ramgator83May 09, 2024 02:34AM

  REally I had 2004 and 2009 CRV

ferragamo7992May 06, 2024 06:17PM
