how MUCH do you want to pay for that "pedigree"?
I never said I was willing to overpay for past pedigree
Ask yourself is that pedigree current, will he be the 2016 Wagner of the 2021 Wagner
Will the 2022 Wageer be better or worse than the 2021 Wagner?
I don't need to ask myself. I'm not on record pricing Wagner as if he's as valuable as his 2016 verson. I get that projecting the 2022 version for BW is risky and not worth the risk of offering him a contract based on name or past pedigree.
Remember Reeder is not the LBer anymore, Jones is.
I never mentioned Reeder. I know all about Ernest Jones. Seen him with my own eyes. Jones looks like another steal by the Rams draft gurus.
And Rams run a 1 Lber defense the vast majority of the time.
Yes they do run a 1 LBer defense. My support for signing Bobby Wagner is more about leadership and upgrading depth should there be injuries.
So, who would get the snaps an ascending player? or a declining player
who used to be great who is now still good, but not great?
I think my above answers to your other questions don't need to be related to this question.
I think CB and edge are more glaring needs. Jones, to me, proved himself . . .
Agree with this. I think most Rams fans probably do.
Wagner is a nice name and still a good player, but he's slower, misses tackles
and if you trust PFF (not perfect, but a fair and reasonable starting point) he's declining
in everything....
No debate from me. Nice names are often based on prior performance. I still think Wags has some gas in his tank, but clearly he doesn't get the same mileage he did a few years ago.
Age is relative to the player, London Fletcher was young at 31, Wagner may be an "old" 31.
But one thing is for sure, going by tackle numbers to evaluate a player is silly.
I agree and would like to believe, most educated NFL fans understand total tackles can grossly be inflated for various reasons. This can also be the case for offensive and special teams stats.
Tackles/Sacks/INT's/Total Yards/TD's/Yds per catch/Yds per carry/Yds per completion and many others.
