Jackie Slater played to 41 but by his age 40 season (1994) he was a shadow of his former self. PFF has Whitworth ranked as the 8th best OT out of 83.
His 2022 cap number of $14.7M is an issue though. Right now it feels like the assumption is the $13M cap savings the Rams would receive if he left is pretty necessary. IF Whitworth did return in 2022 (again, amazing...) that number would have to come down by a decent amount.
