Not very many coaches have won SB's with QB's who were less than Stafford. Very few, actually.
And the arguments about how the Rams handled Goff will go on, which is fine, but it's obvious McVay had concluded Goff just wasn't going to get it done well enough for him.
I could say the Rams in the '70's did try to obtain top QB's, that is Hadl and later Namath. Both were at the end of their careers but were still respected. They couldn't get it done though. If only Dallas had played in LA in 1973 playoffs.....but that's all water under the bridge and I just hope McVay can coach well enough to get the job done that all Ram fans are hoping for.
