I believe when pressure is applied to Jared, he doesn't react quickly enough (read what's open in the defense) which tends to lead to turnovers. Jared has a very long delivery which allows defenders to strip him as he throws. He also is not extremely mobile so he needs to have better pocket awareness.

It doesn't mean Jared isn't a good QB but that he isn't successful enough in McVay's offense. Look, I like Jared and wanted him to succeed as much as you, but I believe McVay did everything he could to help Jared (roll-outs, shortening up the passing offense, improved OL play) but Jared just did not improve IMO.

The NFL is an adaptive system. If you can't evolve your offense or defense each year (believe me, defensive coordinators adapted to the McVay 2017-2018 offense), then you're going to fail (I know you know this already). McVay adapted but Jared couldn't to the level expected by McVay so they decided to go in a different direction.

After 4 successful season2, I will go with McVay's opinion until proven otherwise. But yes, we gave up a lot and expectations will be high. I just don't see missing the Superbowl as a failure in this case.
