Its weird to me

Every article I read about Detroit and Goff makes it seem like Goff is a bridge Qb until they draft their franchise QB either this year or next and Goff is basically a 1 or 2 year stop gap.

Why is that? He was/is a SB QB that has had decent to very good success in LA and all of a sudden he is an afterthought in Detroit. These articles aren't even giving him a chance in Detroit it seems like and he hasn't played a down yet.

Sure he fell out of favor with McVay or McVay felt he needed to change QBs to fully realize his vision of what his offense should look like. I really don't care why he is gone. I do know that he wasn't a horrible QB or a mediocre QB. But these articles are writing him off in seemingly every one of them. I'm confused by it. I hope Goff does well, he deserves a better ending than the endings these articles are giving him.

At least this article, again acknowledging that Detroit can draft his replacement, gives Goff a fighting chance to be the franchise QB for the immediate future and not some albatross around the Lions neck.
