And I still do. And that said, I do not think he's got the potential Goff has. I do agree with Speed, however, in that they both need more help than one would like to see from your starting QB.
I disagree. (Surprise). Goff needs the minimal help virtually every qb needs. Nothing more. 2019 doesn't show me anything to convince me otherwise.
I can't think of many qbs who would do well under the conditions he had in 2019.
That's 2 Rams qbs we;ve seen get undermined by problem OLs -- Bulger and Goff (though Bulger had it far worse).
I continue to see things like that (with problem OLs) this way--if people put it on the qb, then, I can only see them as not properly factoring in the OL situation.
Anyone with that stance, we might agree on a thousand other things, but we will never agree on that.
....
I agree with zn. (shocking I know
)
Good coaching, Good OL and great running game are a recipe for success with any QB at any level. Some need it more than others. Goff and GaCRAPolo are no exceptions and IMO doesn't make them any less talented.
Having said that, I do see Goff as a step above GaCRAPolo. Mentally and physically. I also think Goff's upside might be higher too. There aren't many QB's I would take ahead of Goff. IMO, we are lucky to have him and McVay together for years to come.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
