There are not only three teams right now with negative projected cap space for 2020, but eight teams the Rams have more 2020 cap space than- and that is before counting the roughly $8.5M they are rolling over from Talib and Peters.
They have more cap space- as of now- and more draft capital than the 49ers who have one pick in the top 130+.
The Rams have issues to deal with. No question. They have done well with 2nd-5th round picks in recent years and now face the pressure to HAVE TO do it again.
But when you have a very good head coach, your QB, all your skill position players returning, and two of the top five best defensive players in the league and a very good secondary overall you are doing alright...
Honestly, if I am the Rams front office I am focusing almost entirely on improving the OL and defensive front seven. They can do that with the draft picks and money they have available. Do that and they will be in good shape next year.
