This article will be irrelevant in a week or 2. Cap space is an issue at the start of the league year. The Rams can and will move things around to create the space they need to sign who they want. Some players won't be re-signed, some may be cap casualty cuts, others who have guaranteed money (Havenstein, Cooks) might be moved for late round picks with the Rams eating part of the salary for a potential suitor.
It's not even out of the realm of possible that if Ramsey wants to much money - they could trade him for a first rounder in 2021 - so they'd only lose this year's first rounder in the deal.
But back to the main point of the article - which I disagree with - If having a bunch of cap space equalled winning - then why do so many of the teams with large sums of money to throw around stink?
Does anyone talk about the Pats cap space? Do they spend in free agency on a bunch of big names? Doesn't seem like it.
The Saints have 'cap issues' most years - hasn't really hurt them the last few years has it?
