So that data clearly shows that Goff is near the bottom when under pressure. This in not disputable.

My question is why? Is it just that Goff sucks under pressure? Or is there something about our offense and the where the safety values are or is it that we are running deep routes which are lower percentage anyway and the percentage probability on those routes plummets when there is pressure applied to the QB.

It may be a combination of all of those factors.

I have been very displeased with the performance of the Rams and really it goes back to the Detroit game last year. Teams have focused on pressuring the QB first with Detroit, then Chicago and finally NE. It is easy to blame Goff and he may be a big part of the problem. What is killing me is that it seems that we have not adjusted our offense, not just the game plan but our schemes and philosophy to take advantage of pressure. The offense is McVay baby and we are still doing the same thing despite the adjustments that defensive coordinators have made.

I will grant you that the offensive line has been part of the problem but we have also not made adjustments of counter that weakness. Goff seems to have regressed and McVay seems to have lost his touch. Many want to blame Snead but maybe it is Demoff who signed these guys to big contracts before they needed to be signed. Have some of the leaders on the team moved more into a cruise control type of mindset?

I had visions of long term sustainable success and now we don't have 1st rounders in the next 2 drafts and our cap is used up by players that are not performing to the level of their contracts. To me this is the worst case possible and it show just how fine the line is between building a winning organization and totally screwing things up.

I will be positive and hope that this adversity will only make the Rams stronger for next season. I expect that McVay will need to do some soul searching and will have to change things a bit. Getting an offensive coordinator would be a great start even if McVay calls the plays. I can hope that the players who earned those big paydays get a wake up call too find the areas where they may have let things slide just a bit and rededicate themselves to excellence. I have hope that Goff and Gurley will bounce back and become stars again.

We can expect big changes next season and it starts with the coach. Now don't get me wrong I love McVay my faith in him starts with my expectation that he will do the soul searching and self reflection needed to make the changes that need to be made to get the talent organized and aligned for success. I believe he is a great leader and that this adversity is something that he will overcome and as a result will be a better leader and coach.

Trader Les you are drafting well and your draft day trades are okay but you are buying high with Ramsey and selling low with Peters. You gotta stop that and if you are the one convincing Demoff in the contracts you need to fix that too. Gurley, too early, Haves to much, Higbee high price for just okay. Goff? Why so early?

Anyway I think that the Rams have wanted to create this team as a destination magnet for other players but you ought to get a discount and we are paying premium. Demoff owns that but McVay and Snead influence Demoff to some degree and so far it seems like we have a lot of poor decisions.

Anyway it has been a depressing season but my hope abounds for the future.
