I find out WRs were getting around 16 M the year Cooks signed by looking at other signings.
Meanwhile go actually look at annual contract numbers for 2nd contracts. Actually do it.
The mistake you're making here you would never make in engineering. At real work you would assess data and look for significant patterns. It would never be "my assumptions say X so that must be what it is."
One example that fits your argument? Thielen in 2019 did not get as much as Beckham in 2018. It's 16 M v. 18 M.
