you made a scenario where the PI is called...the saints run the clock and win....that is being totally selective to your scenario....it's not semantics its you making a narrative and fulfilling it with your ending....I am saying that just getting that PI call did not mean a thing to the outcome of the game in and of itself (which you seem to be portraying)....
I'm going with your scenario of the PI called and see that the saints could have still lost that game...even with the PI call.
I am not looking at it as a fan of either team....I'm looking at it that the PI call did not in and of it self determine the winner....what happened after the non call determined the winner.....The PI did not if called make it a surety that the saints would have won...they could have fumbled the next play....they could have had it blocked....Not saying in the case of the RAMS...if it were the other way with the call going non call and us with the ball....there would have been no sure thing saying a RAMS win either if it happened to them.
All I am doing is pointing out the facts others downplay. It doesn't matter who you are or what you say there will be facts you downplay. If you are a Saints fan you're going to downplay the facemask. If you're a Rams fan you're going to downplay the fact that a first down in that situation from a PI call is a HUGE
advantage. (Huge.)
So I am not "selecting" anything, just pointing out that every narrative of this is based on fan-driven emotions and value judgments that downplay some facts and highlights others. That's every single one, all possible narratives, they're ALL doing that. And in fact...that's inevitable. It ought to be exactly what we expect would happen.
The point?
There's no "truth" here, just clashing opinions. Rams fans will tend to see it one way, Saints fans another.
And again, all more or less what we ought to expect, really.
