It's a fact that PI wasn't called, it's a fact that the Saints still went up by 3 points. It's a fact that their defense had a chance to stop us and didn't. It's a fact that they had the ball first in OT and were stopped by our defense. It's a fact that one call alone did not lose them the game, but of course many do and will disagree and that's fine, but facts are still facts

See, one's opinion in matters like this determines which facts one highlights and which facts one downplays.
So yeah it's all value judgments, and that is just completely inescapable. The driving force in determining which value judgments we tend to prefer is the team we follow. If the non-call had happened to the Rams in the same kind of situation, I very very much doubt we would be saying the same things we are now.
