In all fairness, Wentz suffered a gruesome injury and sat out nearly a year.
You are calling it a draw when he is 2 games back from a serious reconstruction of the knee (and you I and the whole world knows he's not 100% physically or mentally yet) against a kid in Goff who has played every game in perfect conditions so far this year sans injury. That in and of itself should tell you a little something.
I know this. The game Wentz got hurt he was clearly the better QB on the field. And since then one guy has had time to progress while the other has been in rehab.
When you point out Wentz’s injury, you are kinda making the case for Goff, kfriel.
Meaning, running is a big part of Wentz’ game and he’s not as effective without that threat. And if he keeps running then further injuries are inevitable. To continue with this logic, when Wentz is on the sideline he is of no use to his team.
I much prefer Goff and his style whether it’s in LA or in Philly. Goff seems almost certain to suffer fewer injuries than Wentz and consequently have a longer career. That’s huge.
And I Slightly favored Wentz over Goff predraft, fwiw.
One of the big reasons I preferred Goff over Wentz was the injury risk factor. His style of play and body got him hurt in college. I was worried about that. And low and behold, he gets major injury his 2nd year. As a matter of fact, I don’t believe Wentz has ever played 2 full consecutive seasons going back to his college days.
Simply put, I would be a nervous wreck if Wentz were my QB. So no thanks, I'll take Goff hands down.
