Two things:
1. Wade didn't draft Ware: he was already on the Broncos when Wade joined the team in 2015. Just because Wade is smart enough to take advantage of what Wade and Quinn do well does not mean he needs (or even wants) that type of player to run his D. I for one can't wait to see how different (better?) this defense becomes as Wade adds 'his' players.
2. With all due respect to Robert Quinn he ain't no DeMarcus Ware. Ware was a 9 time pro-bowler, 4 time first team all pro, 3 time second team all pro, lead the league in sacks twice, won the Butkus award twice, and is a member of the NFL's 2000 All Decade Team. To the extent that Wade modified his defense to accommodate Ware I'd say it was warranted: the guy's going to the Hall. Quinn isn't.
That's why I emphasized at that "point in his career".
With all due respect I don't see how any defense can be any better than that 2015 Broncos defense.
That was a historical year so IF Wade didn't have "his" players I would hate to see one that he did.
But Wade has always been known for utilizing what players did well...so the "his" players is a bit cloudy to ME.
