We definitely need OL depth but our D really has bigger needs. Wade did wonders in making a decent 3-4 D out of a bunch of athletic guys playing out of position, but they need to improve especially against the run. I see no real NT, our best OLBs are both playing inside and our corners are either gone or on their way out the door. I still think taking the best available player at every pick is the best option but would absolutely strive toward getting 2 CBS, a NT, and two ILBs. Let Tree and Barron roam the edges where there speed and pursuit plays to their play making abilities. If a tremendous center is there at 23 and he's BPA for Snead's board I say pick him. I really expect a LB or CB with out first pick.
You can find CBs and NTs throughout a draft. And they will. I say that because they have before. Rams have a superior record from 2012 finding DBs. It's a long list, including some who have left already, and there's not a single first round pick on that list.
The truth is, you can get by with this defense while building a bit at a time.
The defense needs some pieces to be ELITE. The OL needs some pieces to AVOID FALLING APART. Big difference.
The OL will completely fall apart after one year. If we're lucky that won't involve Whitworth but it could.

I don't disagree but I will counter two points. The defense will fall apart THIS YEAR if they lose Tru and or Joyner.
While DB's can be found throughout the draft the ones who are drafted lower are almost always needing seasoning. I don't see any way of keeping Tru at his salary so I believe that drafting a first round CB is the top priority.
I'm all for drafting OL throughout this draft. Centers and guards can also be studs after the third round.
Given the Rams situation, those positions are more easily replaced than the OL. Partly because they already have depth at DB (eg. Cody Davis, Hill, Peterson). There is no equivalent depth on OL. And partly because they are good at drafting for the secondary...to the point where they don't need high picks to do it. And I assume they will keep Joyner anyway (Tru in contrast I think is a goner.)
On OL what they really need above all else is a future LOT, and that can't mean low draft picks. The hit rate on LOTs drafted after round 2 is really awful. I looked at 2006-2015 and the hit rate is less than 5% on starting LOTs. In contrast, it is much easier to get OGs, OCs, and ROTs after round 2.
