Well in the Air Raid version of the spread the qb never calls plays (which makes learning how to call plays a huge hassle), he doesn't take snaps under center and read the defense pre-snap, and there are about I think 20 passing and running concepts to the entire offense. A pro style qb calls plays, takes snaps under center, therefore turns his back to the defense on play action and has to turn around again and re-acquire the defense, knows the timing and rhythm of 3, 5, and 7 step drops, and has a real playbook so is used to learning a playbook. To be a pro qb, you have to do all those things at a "2nd nature" and not a "thinking about it while doing it" level. What I saw with Goff last year he was thinking not reacting.

And I;'m sure there's a lot else to it too.
