on the one hand you attribute Goffs success to coaching etc, then on the other hand you admit that Goff is far superior to CK.

lets just see how it plays out. if CK and Goff both become perennially top 10 qbs you can gripe that we made a bad trade becasue we already had our qb...but as usual hindsight is 20/20. im not sure (including the vikings) would have been all in on CK.

I can say that CK would've guided the current '17 McVay Rams to a 7-2 record. Goff has had a great year, but I attribute most of that to Coaching, scheme, added firepower and OL play. Goff is far superior to CK overall, but this current Rams team is so much better than just the QB position.

Really, my point is an average QB could have a winning record with the way the Rams as a whole are playing.

Goff or Wentz look to be good picks and right now the Rams trading up looks like the right decision. The next 4-5 games will determine what kind of QB Goff really is. If he is elite, the Rams may only lose 1 game the rest of the way. Let's say he looks average the rest of the way and the Rams go 11-5. I'm still very pleased and have hope for Goff as a franchise QB just for the simple fact he's only 22 years old and has the physical tools. Yeah, CK wouldn't have been the long term QB for the future because he just lacks elite physical tools. I just hope Goff doesn't flounder and ends up being a consistent top 10 QB for years to come.
