Pre-snap reads.... I don't agree. That's a common misperception from my experience. My grandson makes pre-snap reads. I don't know of any coach, (granted, I know few these days), that play 'college ball' in any system that doesn't coach pre-snap reads.
I'm not sure I understand you about 'calling plays'. Goff nor Wentz are calling their plays, unless you mean audibles?
I don't really buy the 'turning his back' either... although it does have some merit. This happens, happened, in many plays Goff ran in college. It's fleeting, to be sure, but it happens. Goff did NOT enter the Pro's never having experienced it.
The Rhythm thing I'm with ya on.
I'm not with you on the second nature thing.. which IMO is required in ANY system. I don't think Goff's 'overthinking', (which I think was obvious and I do not doubt), was due to a different system as much as it was to a 'new' system.. something Wentz surely faced as well. - JamesJM
