His 2015 was his best. For sure. In fact he was probably a better runner than receiver. At least one of his receiving TDs was really a run (short shuffle pass/handoff from Foles vs. Green Bay).

But the sum of his work in 4 years just doesn't impress. Yards from scrimmage? 79th since he came into the league. Punt return average? Bottom quarter. His catch % (among anyone with 150+ catches)- bottom third (which is pretty amazing for a guy that has so many screens thrown at him).

Other than 3 highlight reel punt returns he has just not been an above average player. He can and should benefit from better and more creative coaching on offense. I really think he will.

To me it's how he';s used.

2015 takes best advantage of what he actually IS.

I don't put 2016 on Tavon, that's just not him being used effectively. 2016 was from the "Tavon's a receiver" playbook and as I keep saying, using him that way limits him.

.

Using Tavon "effectively" is very important, zn. We can all agree upon that. And it seems to be a McVay trademark.

But there is still the matter of his height of 5' 8", his hands, his route running, his catch radius, his sight adjustments, etc. His coaches can only do so much by "how he's used".

Maybe Tavon can win me over in '17, but for right now I'm seeing a huge contract extension blunder on Fisher's part. Thank Gawd Demoff structured it in such a way that we can escape cap hell with it after only 2 years.
