He has his occasional flashes. Enough to tease us, anyway.
But he's not worth that $42 million salary that Fisher gave him and told him that he "earned" on Hard Knocks. That whopper was right up there with the "no 7-9 BS" one.
Ironic, isn't it? Tavon gets his big payday and his stats decline. Go figure.
Let us hope that one of the following occurs with Tavon this year:
McVay figures out how to better utilize him.
Tavon's football IQ takes a big jump.
Tavon finds a pair of NFL quality hands.
Tavon starts running crisp routes for Goff.
Tavon learns about making sight adjustments.
'Cause if Tavon's play doesn't take a significant jump this year, his contract structure will permit his trade or release next offseason. McVay strikes me as a HC that will either demand and receive top production from his players, or he will replace them with someone who will provide what he demands. Just ask Britt and Quick, among others. Just business.
