I agree with a lot of your suggestions on how to use him.
Fact is, though, he's not really being paid like a top WR.
Going by average amount per year, TA is in the 10.5 M range. That's 2nd tier.
The top 5. WRs are in the (on avg.) 14 M
or more a year range. The top 10 avg. around 13 M.
That of course has nothing to do with how the should use him. It's just a minor point about where his contract ranks.
TA is 13th highest paid WR according to Over the Cap. That would qualify as top tier salary IMHO.
It's even higher than the upper half of the first 32 WRs. So... he is being paid more than at least 19 other #1 WRs.
You can debate if that's top tier money if you want to but based upon what I've outlined above, there's not really any facts to say he's not being paid top tier $. In fact, there are approximately 190 NFL WRs in total. His pay is in the top 7% of all of them.
Regardless, I just want him used a lot to see if he can improve the team with more use, or not. If after 2 more years he's not making a huge difference then time to cut ties if financially reasonable to do so.
Tavon's production was certainly not in the top 7% of WR's last year. Lol.
