As a fan, from what I've seen - I go #1 Keenum #2 Mannion. That has nothing to do with who I *think* may be the best down the road and everything to do with who gives the Ram's the best chance to win WHICH, IMHO, is the whole point. And I base that NOT just on Mannions last outing but his first as well.
I also believe that with 2 preseason games to go that could change before game #1.
If nearly everyone is right and 'sitting' won't hurt Goff, not even for a year, or two, then why not go with who gives you the best chance of winning now and adjust the 'reps' accordingly? By what I understand, and I'll be more than happy to be corrected here if in error... the #1 gets almost ALL the reps with the #1's... meaning ain't much difference between #2 and #3.
I think there is a bias, and some hypocrisy, that QB's can't develop as well with the #2's, or #3's... yet it's often brought up how many great NFL QB's did just that. I tend to think the biggest leap for a QB is more in facing opposing defenses, the speed of the game, the pressure, the spontaneity, than it is in getting in sync with his own receivers... my point: Rep's with the #1's or #2's, either way, there still exists the hurdle of starting a regular season game. - JamesJM
