Yes, Mannion is automatically the #3. That's pretty apparent. And I agree with the 2nd statement. In fact we said nearly the same thing. He wants to get more out of Goff because he is a developing high pick, and at the same time CK is probably going to start and/or be the #2. So yes.
I don't know why Sean is automatically #3. Sean has out played Jared in camp and on the field. Right now if the season started and Case was injured, I think Sean is the better player to run the offense than Jared.
I would like to see Sean given a chance to beat out Case. During that Cowgirls game, I saw a QB who attacked the players he went up against.
Well a 2nd year player is supposed to look better than a rookie, initially. Or there's something wrong with the 2nd year player. But looking at what counts---they took Goff high because of his talent set and are therefore quite rightly interested in developing that---means you back burner the less talented player.
Oh and the very fact we're even having this discussion is good in its own right. That means Mannion is looking pretty good too. Nothing wrong with that, to say the least.
In terms of attacking the players you go up against, the more experienced and developed CK also did that. And he is destined to be the #2.
I have nothing against Mannion. It's just that nobody displaces the future #2 (CK) and the future #1 (high draft pick high talent Goff) to "see what they have" in their #3.
Chances are very good they already know everything they need to about all 3.
