The league has caught up to McVay.
He brought in a good scheme, but he's not evolving, he is stuck in his ways.
There are many coaches out there out coaching him.
Even his proteges, like LaFluer, run a much more aggressive version of his system. It may be a base, but they have fast receivers and adjust their play calling based on their opponent.
McVay truly runs his system regardless of the opponent. The complete opposite of Bill Belichick. (I have to assume he makes minor adjustments, but hard to see what those are since we do the same thing in the 1st quarter every game). We did finally throw a couple 8 yard passes on 1st down this game, but too little, too late)
If McVay had the eagles players of course he would do well (as would any coach), But McVay and Snead keep drafting Kupp and Kyren over and over. And smaller lineman.
I personally don't want to do this again next year. Stafford, Kupp, McVay. The definition of insanity.
